Bankruptcy Myths

I can only file bankruptcy once!

There’s always a chance you may find yourself in a financial rut more than once in your lifetime. Luckily, you can file for bankruptcy more than once, should you need to.

Bankruptcy will harm my credit score!

Bankruptcy itself does not actually hurt your credit score. In most cases, bankruptcy will very likely help you raise your credit score.

I make too much money to file bankruptcy!

The reality is that it’s not possible to make “too much money” to file for bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy is for bums!

The general view by the public is that people who file bankruptcy have been out racking up debt without ever intending to pay it back. This presumption could not be further from the truth.

A debt settlement program is a better option for me!

I can’t afford an attorney!

30% of people who file bankruptcy without an attorney fail to receive a discharge of their debt.

I’ll lose my house and car!

Typically, you won’t lose any assets unless you want to. State exemption laws protect people’s assets.

I can’t live my life while in bankruptcy!

Kind Words from our Clients

Jordyn Hill was my attorney for my bankruptcy, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guy. He was sensitive, and understanding. I felt he truly cared about what I was going through. I would recommend Jordyn to anyone looking for a caring, sensitive attorney to help guide them through this journey. Thank you, Jordyn!

E. Poage

Ted literally saved my sanity! Once I met him and he got things started, he took such good care of me from start to finish that I would highly recommend him to anyone. He’s thorough, knowledgeable and best of all, easily accessible. Whether it’s returning a phone call or email I never had to wait for Ted to get back to me. He makes you feel as if you’re his only client and he has all the time you need for explanations and/or questions. I couldn’t be happier with the way he handled my case.
